Why is the CPR HCP Course no Longer Available?

HCP Courses Winnipeg

CPR HCP Courses Winnipeg is no longer available and we are getting quite a lot of requests about it. In fact, most of the professionals have asked the employees to obtain the First Aid Training Winnipeg and CPR certifications. You will need to produce the certificate in order to secure the job. Hence, it is important to make sure that you sign up with the correct course. That’s where we encourage you to discuss matters with your employer and understand what course you will need to take exactly.

Why are CPR HCP courses no longer available?

Back in last April, Canadian Red Cross decided to go ahead and replace CPR HCP courses from the BLS (Basic Life Support) courses. It is the right course that is designed to cater to the needs of healthcare service providers. When you follow a BLS course, you will be able to deep dive into the topics. Along with that, you can also make sure that you get a lot of extra information about each topic. This is why you need to think about following the BLS Course.

The CPR HCP course had a duration of just one hour. However, the BLS course comes with a duration of four hours. You are also provided with the chance to go through additional topics, which include oxygen therapy and airway management.
You must keep in mind that CPR HCP course and BLS course are not the same. Along with that, you must remember that it is important for healthcare providers to follow the BLS course as of now.

Why was the CPR HCP replaced?

Now you must be wondering why the CPR HCP Courses Winnipeg was replaced. Several reasons are there behind this fact. The biggest reason out of them was to make it differentiate the course from the other public CPR courses. It has become important for healthcare providers to go through specific training so that they can function effectively in the professional environment where they work. The BLS course is in a position to provide high-performance information to the people who go through it. It is quite different from traditional CPR courses. Hence, people who go through BLS courses will be able to end up with additional information.

That’s not the only reason for the replacement of CPR HCP courses. The course content that you can find in BLS courses is more appropriate. Hence, it is worthy to follow a BLS course instead of CPR HCP. The CPR HCP courses are not in a position to deliver all needed information. Therefore, people will often end up with sub-par results. But when you go through BLS courses, you will not come across any such issue. That’s because you can get a solid overall understanding.
Since the BLS courses have a duration of four hours, they are in a position to cover more information when compared to a CPR HCP course. Therefore, you will be able to end up with securing additional skills.

Who should obtain BLS certificate?

If you are a person who is working in a hospital setting, you will need to go through the BLS course and obtain BLS certificate. It includes the medical doctors, nurses, and staff who work at hospitals as well. Even people who are working as lab technicians and dentists will come across the need to obtain the BLS certificate. It is better if you can double-check this requirement with your employer and confirm the facts.

What is the validity of BLS certificate?

BLS is a nationally valid certificate. It is offered by the Canadian Red Cross. Therefore, you will be able to use it throughout Canada and it will be recognized.

How to renew the BLS certificate?

The BLS certificate comes along with a validity duration of just one year. Due to the same reason, you will come across the need to renew the BLS certificate. The reason why you have to renew the certificate every single year is that course content is changing. Therefore, you need to make sure that you have an up to date knowledge at all times. Otherwise, you will not be able to fulfill all your responsibilities at the workplace. Hence, it is important to renew the certificate and prove that you are aware of up to date information, which becomes important in providing the contribution that the workplace expects from you.

Understanding CPR Techniques related to Water Safety

CPR Courses Winnipeg

Summer is the perfect time of the year for you to go ahead and engage with a large number of outdoor activities. Fishing, swimming, boating, and water sports are some of the most prominent activities out of them. No matter how much effort is being spent on creating safety awareness, we still see a considerable percentage of people being ended up with fatalities and tragedies by water. All these tragedies can be avoided.

It is important for everyone to have a basic understanding of swimming. However, swimming lessons are not just alone to help someone protect his life. It is important to go through one of the CPR Courses Winnipeg and have a solid understanding of emergency preparedness. It can assist you to save the life of another person during an emergency.

Throughout the past few years, the Canadian Red Cross has introduced a series of changes to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR. You can go through one of the CPR courses and figure them out. Among changes that you see, one of the key changes is to teach compression-only CPR for a rescuer.

This new method of first aid training came into play after a series of researches. One such research was published in the Circulation Journal. According to this publication, the method was discovered along with evidence obtained from the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation.

When a person who stays with you collapse all of a sudden, it is important to go ahead and perform chest compressions in a consistent manner. Then you will be able to force the heart of that person to pump. This would eventually circulate oxygen, which is trapped within the body of that person. This is one of the fundamental lessons that you will be taught while attending one of the HCP Courses Winnipeg as well. The main objective of this is to keep blood moving throughout the body until emergency service comes for the rescue.

According to Canadian Res Cross, it is enough to provide compression-only when you are not too sure on how to provide full CPR and or when you are not willing to go ahead with it. In fact, full CPR is made out of 30 different compressions along with two rescue breaths. This should be followed on adults as well as on kids.

Providing compression-only CPR isn’t recommended as well. If you are working with a drowning scenario, it is important to pay extra attention to this fact. That’s because the lungs of a person who is drowned in water are filled with water.
Therefore, you will not be able to find enough storage of oxygen within blood or lungs to circulate through the body.

If you are offering CPR to a person who has drowned, you are strongly encouraged to follow these tips.
  1. As the first thing, you should understand the situation of emergency. Along with that, you should take appropriate measures to protect yourself as well.
  2. You should then check the safety of a person that you are going to rescue.
  3. If the drowned person is not responding or not breathing, you need to contact 911 immediately.
  4. You can ask a person around you to get an automated external defibrillator.
  5. Then you should insert one rescue breath immediately.
  6. Focusing on the center of the chest, you need to do 30 continuous compressions. You should provide these compressions with a depth of two inches on an adult. If it is a kid, you should compress with a depth of an inch.
  7. When you complete 30 compressions, you should plug the nose and then do a head tilt chin lift. Along with that, you should provide a rescue breath. You can then pause and add provide a second rescue breath as well. You need to make sure not to over breathe to the person that is being rescued. You need to make sure that the breath you provide is enough for the person to rise.
  8. As the next step, you should provide 30 cycles of other compressions along with 2 rescue breaths. You should do this until a medical authority arrives at the scene.
  9. If the person who is being rescued becomes responsive, you should roll him immediately to a recovery position. Then you can remove water trapped in the lungs and stomach.
CPR Courses Winnipeg is in a position to provide excellent assistance for you to learn how to save lives. Along with that, you need to be aware of the Red Cross Program Standards. It is one of the most important life skills that a person can get.

When you are going through HCP courses, you should also ensure that a training program is up to date. Then you can practice skills effectively. It can help you save the lives of other people effectively.
